Exciting News: Kumi Kreator Toy of the Year Nomination!

I always tell people that the Kumi Kreator feels like my baby. I’ve spent the last 2+ years working alongside the amazing designers at Spin Master testing different types of string, brainstorming colour palettes, coming up with every cute bracelet name I can possibly think of, designing the actual bracelet patterns, and putting them all on cute templates. I spend the most time working away on the templates, each consisting of a million tiny details that need my attention, and sometimes when I’m asleep I end up dreaming that I’m still working on them, plugging in the colours, tweaking tiny little bracelet pixels. The most fun part has definitely been making well over 200 bracelets with the Kumi machine, turning the crank and watching the pixels I designed on screen form into a gorgeous complex braid out the top of the machine like magic.

I am so excited to announce that my baby, the Kumi Kreator, has been nominated for a 2019 Toy of the Year award! To put that into perspective, the TOTY awards are often referred to as the “Oscars” of the toy industry. My baby is nominated for an Oscar. Kumi is nominated in the Creative Toy of the Year category, and the winner will be announced February 15th 2019. Cross your fingers for us!
